Pharamond is the project by the french journalist Sylvain Mazars. His debut album "Orbis Tertius" is a versatile and easygoing composition.
Inspired by Jorge Luis Borges' short story "Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius" (1940)

Review by Dave Law (MusicZeit):
The final album uploaded by Syngate since the last update ‘Orbis Tertius’ is by a new artist Pharamond. Again sequences abound. It does have some Berlin School moments but also covers wider ground. Indeed it can be quite inventive while at the same time never becoming a difficult listen. The opening track is probably the one with the greatest punch, the others chugging along nicely with pleasant melodies. The third and fourth tracks ‘Uqbar’ and ‘Uqbar 2’ are probably my favourites, To sum up, Pharamond does have a sound of its own but there is also enough familiarity about it to avoid sounding alien. A superb debut.
